Edmonton weather is being it's old predictable self, giving us a blizzard in May and sunshine the very next day. We thought it would be a good idea to watch Christmas movies and make brownie sundaes, but ended up playing Quelf. Hearing Alan say the pen is mightier than the sword in a english accent from under a table never gets old. That, and watching him pay for groceries with a bus ticket. We love his penny coloured Honda!

For most, a trip to the U.S would involve shopping, eating, and sightseeing. For me, a trip to the U.S is really just about expanding my shoe collection. I am always so excited to visit Payless stores, not only because they have cheap shoes, but their collaborations with designers Christian Siriano, Lela Rose and my favourite, Alice + Olivia, always make up for the selection we suffer from here in Edmonton. Initially, I was going to add shoe laces to these Jazz Oxfords, but the no shoe lace thing is kind of growing on me. For someone who is always late, it's probably a good thing to just let it be.

Went to Urban China for dinner. I love chinese food but always end up going with people who can only order by number so I don't go as much as I would like to. This is my second favourite chinese restaurant in Edmonton (Sorry, but Tin Tin will always hold a special place in my heart righttt?). The best part was of course the bathroom, which was playing the hockey game in the mirror! Sharon also taught me how to "swear" in French so I don't get sent home in the first week.

I just booked my ticket to Montreal (Don't worry, it's a direct flight). Leaving earlier than expected, but may end up at Lady Gaga on the 28th. Keep your fingers crossed!

Did a little thrifting today. And when I mean little, we went all out. These Value Village sales only come by every three months, so we have to take advantage of it! Summer is here and I will try to update more now that I'm done school. I still have a ton of things to plan for my trip to Trois-Pistoles in July, like how not to bring ten pairs of shoes and how to dress appropriately for a fishing town. But right now, all I want to do is eat watermelon and watch Mulan, so the rest is history.

pride yourself on the unattainable, then smile at your feat

It's 2010! Where have I been?! Not going to lie, it's not the start I wanted but I'm learning to deal with it. Three weeks into school and I'm already drowning in projects and assignments. The only bright spot is that in one month, I will be escaping Edmonton for a little trip to Vegas with my lovelies. Chippendales anyone?

Anyhow, the weather is being unusually cooperative for January. I'm not kidding when I say that I have actually been living in this combination of Hunters and anything black for the past week. I get the weirdest looks for wearing rainboots but I have actually found them to be so useful in this type of weather. I just realized how stupid it looks but I swear it looks better when worn.

I have never been one to follow resolutions but this year, I'll try to make it happen. 2010 is about moving forward, not backwards. So I say fuck etiquette, fuck boys, and fuck the stupid people in your life who are always spreading negative energy around; it's all about laughing, loving, and doing what I want.

Life Update

The last couple of weeks have been spent

1) Studying
2) Not working
3) Buying faux fur
4) Making peace not war
5) Trying to combat the frequent amount of tummy aches by drinking anything liquid
6) Saying goodbye to the bff because he's leaving me forever

Heading out the door soon, but I may need to lie down first.
