The girls; I wish I had a full length shot of my outfit, but this was the best picture I had

Eric aka my partner in crime and I have this unhealthy obsession of coordinating outfits when we go out for dinner. I don't even have to ask what he's going to wear because we always end up complimenting each other...somehow. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that we're both hipsters in denial. He dresses like Brent Bolthouse...all he needs is the black leather jacket and he is set. Last night we had dinner at East Side Marios..and I didn't think my faux fur coat was appropriate so I opted for a more casual, rocker chic look. Pairing my outfit down with a leather jacket, white tank, lamé leggings and topped it off with yellow flats. I love a burst of colour in an almost monochromatic look. I also whipped out the scarf as it was a little chilly after dinner, and my non-fuctional hand warmers.

"You look like a street fighter." thanks

The prefered uniform of a university student consists mainly of an Abercrombie and Fitch sweater and jeans tucked into UGGS. Sure, that looks okay but I hate looking like everyone else. I went thrifting and ended up with a sweet pair of cowboy boots. To my surprise, they were Frye and were already broken in. I was so excited to wear them, and then the unthinkable happened. It snowed. I was totally bummed, but this is Edmonton and you learn to deal with the weather and dress how you want to dress anyway. Like -30C weather and a little snow is going to stop me from wearing leggings. It should have though, because I froze my butt off waiting for the bus..I did, however, get compliments :) But accessories are your best friend in this type of weather, so I opted for a cute beret to keep my head warm and a Missoni scarf.

Not Just the City of Champions

Hey y'all. My name is Amanda and I am a fashion student at the University of Alberta. The point of this blog is to recognize Edmonton as a fashion city and not for a redneck town. Attending the UofA gives me the privilege to see all sorts of styles, even in the coldest of weather. While my room is overflowing with clothes and heaps of empty USPS boxes, I can still manage to get dressed in the morning, and it's all thanks to the fallback outfits. Pulling all nighters in my second year as a fashion student was not what I signed up for, but with the help of American Apparel and pretty jeans on my side, I am able to still look chic and so can you. As a student working only eight hours a week, I try to look for good deals when shopping. I love online shopping, scouring ebay for vintage and jeans, Forever 21 for cheap random articles of clothing and accessories, American Apparel for basics, and Aldo for footwear. More on shopping tips later :)

It is my job to bring to you the most stylish Edmontonians and to get a sense of the mix of tastes we have going on in this beautiful city.
