Life Update

The last couple of weeks have been spent

1) Studying
2) Not working
3) Buying faux fur
4) Making peace not war
5) Trying to combat the frequent amount of tummy aches by drinking anything liquid
6) Saying goodbye to the bff because he's leaving me forever

Met up with one of my favourite people I have ever known to exist as she makes me laugh harder than any comedian or actor can. Come on now white bread, albino alligator, and mixed babies with afros. Till death do us part lady.

Tested out the tripod in the dark today. Clearly I have some work to do, but I blame it on the wiener dog next door. I think he's mad because his stomach almost touches the ground. So cute!

Seattle

Took a much needed break to Seattle with Annie over the Remembrance Day long weekend. We arrived in Vancouver thinking we had all the time in the world to eat Burger King because our flight was "delayed," only to find out that it really wasn't and we missed our flight. Luckily, our flight was overbooked so instead of having to re-purchase tickets, we were rewarded for our stupidity with vouchers, hotel, food and shuttle service. We did lots of shopping, visited the Space Needle, Pike Place Market, University, South Centre in shady shady Tukwila, Chinatown, rode the Monorail, got into a fight with the shoe manager at Nordstrom, was asked if we were on America's Next Top Model LOL, ran for the bus in the pouring rain, through a construction site and all, ate really bad thai food, raided Walgreens for cheap makeup and got tricked into buying a giant cookie, wanted to eat said cookie but discovered it made it's way into the garbage, watched keeping up with the kardashians with a leaking toilet, had girl talk, spent forever in the biggest Forever 21 I have ever set foot in, took silly pictures with rice picking hats while thrifting, ate sushi made by all Spanish people, and taught Annie the rules of hockey <3

It rained every single day we were there except on the last day, but we only had time to grab lunch before the long flight home. I brought the biggest suitcase imaginable but basically lived in the same outfit everyday. It's definitely hard to live there without rain boots and an umbrella!

Sorry for the long hiatus. School has been kicking me in the ass, got a root canal last week, and this whole H1N1 epidemic is making me PARANOID. Like everywhere I go, there seems to be someone coughing, sneezing, and it's just making it that much harder for me to believe that I won't contract it. I am well equipped though with my mask and hand sanitizer, which are both coming with me when I go to Seattle this Saturday! I am excited to get outta here.

I wore this jacket to school on Saturday and ran into my friend.

B: so are you doing anything for halloween?
A: yeah.
B: [points to jacket] yeah, I can tell.
A: ya. ha ha!

WTF BRIAN this wasn't my halloween costume. The shoulder pads make me look like Shakespeare but the brocade reminds me of Balenciaga Spring '08, which is why I love it so much! Volume baby. Oh and yes I got my bangs cut. I asked Santa for an early christmas present (a camera) so hopefully I can stop taking pictures on my MacBook. Sorry!

I think we are officially in fall now. I decided to dress like a funeral director, which consisted of every black article of clothing in my closet, including my non functional hand warmers and my new favourite scarf.

October is just around the corner and I am kind of freaking out about it. I am, however, excited for hockey!! GO OILERS GO.

I'm trying to grow out my bangs like Taylor in The Rachel Zoe Project. I heart her style and attitude problem.

Went to the Value Village sale after school yesterday. I love the system that Vicky, Tifanie and I have when we go. We split up, come together after half an hour of looking, realize we have too much stuff and need a cart, then split up for a second time before we line up to try stuff on. Tifanie and I usually pick things out for each other hah it's so cute. No don't worry, I won't run Value Village out of business.

Sorry my pics are so out of focus sometimes. If you want to know who takes my photos for me, it's actually a self timer and I use a plastic table as my tripod. I KNOW, my sister makes fun of me for it.

Spent yesterday morning thrifting with the bff until he had a severe allergy attack which left us at the mall. I realized that shopping just isn't the same when you don't have an idea of what you want to buy. I did, however, purchase a sweet red toggle coat which I have been wanting for a while now. Now I must wait for snow!

Gloomy weather tends to send me into an alternate universe where it's okay to mix sequin hot pants and cowboy boots together. I was trying for the whole Mary-Kate circa 2005, but ended up looking like a mess. My sister thinks I'm so weird now.

I start sewing class tomorrow. I am both dreading and ready to get it over with...again. This time around, I will be sewing a skirt, a shirt and a pair of pants. An interlocking mini skirt still qualifies as a skirt, right? Because it's totally going to be leather!

Was supposed to buy my laptop today but got sidetracked. Instead, I ended up in Chinatown and spotted a Youtube sensation. I think.

It kind of looks like I have a baby bump! Anyway, school started on Wednesday but I'm pretty immune to it now having been in school for three months this summer. This semester is packed and I learned the hard way that stress and Rockstar don't mix, so my new goal this year is to eat less fast food, finish all my readings ahead of everybody else and not fall asleep in class. And of course with my best friend making comments about a microwaveable air conditioner, it's bound to be a good one.

Also, Edmonton Fashion Week kicks off September 16-24. I haven't decided which day I will attend, but it should make a good show!

Good bye Summer

To sum it all up, Vancouver was hot, full of "HOUSEKEEPING" moments, stealing keycards and getting sprayed in the face by a sprinkler, late night slurpee runs, getting "stuck" in an elevator, finding notes underneath the door, taking creeper photos, trying to include Rico in every picture, prepping for our food club, perfecting that group shot, watching killer seagulls attack, petting a giant dog (and not the drug dog this time), spending almost an hour in a photobooth doing fob poses, waking up to alien ringtones, loyalty, wishing we lived in the Sheraton, watching a boy cream himself, hearing everyone snore, skee ball, half thrifting, running: amazing race style, walking 1000 blocks in the span of 4 days, photo finger illusions, discussing why trains go choo choo, not silencing words with silent letters. I would do it all over again. But next summer, we're east coasting it.

I did a horrible job at documenting my outfits worn on the trip. It was ridiculously hot the first three days, and the last day I basically wore my pjs to Richmond. Attractive, I know. So use your imagination.
